29th June, 2016
The top junior golfers in British Columbia will compete in Cobble Hill, B.C. from July 5-8 at the Arbutus Ridge Golf Club.
The BC Junior Boys' Championship is open to 156 amateur males that qualify for the event and are aged 18 and under.
"We are thrilled to be hosting this prestigious event at the Arbutus Ridge Golf Club," said Bryan Outram, Manager of Communications for British Columbia Golf. "The past winners of this event are impressive and we expect that this will be another display of inspiring junior golf," he continued. Previous winners of this event include Fred Couples, Nick Taylor and many other notables.
The Arbutus Ridge Golf Club, a Bill Robinson design, is considered to be one of the top courses on Vancouver Island and hosted the CN Future Links Championship in 2011, BC Women’s Amateur/Mid-Amateur Championship in 2010, Canadian Junior Girls Championship in 2005 and the BC Junior Girls Championship in 2004/2003. "We are very excited for this opportunity to showcase our hospitality and the area in general to the best junior boys in the province," said General Manager Jason Lowe. "We believe the course itself is a perfect blend of challenge and playability with an excellent variety of holes where you have to strategically think your way around the course using every club in the bag," he continues. "We’re also known for our outstanding conditions and scenery which should help ensure players and spectators enjoy the experience."
Player registration is Monday July 4 at 11:00am followed by a player’s meeting that is open to the public and a practice round. Starting times, results and a full field list are available online.
