Fairway “Slit Drainage” Project at Mayfair Lakes Golf & Country Club
31st January, 2014
Mayfair Lakes is pleased to announce that we will be embarking on the first stage of a comprehensive golf course drainage project starting in February 2014.
The engineering firm hired, KellyAmi Inc., is the industry leader in designing complete drainage systems throughout all of North America. They have completed extensive drainage work at courses such as Capilano Golf Club, The Vancouver Golf Club and recently at Quilchena Golf & Country Club.
Upon completion of a comprehensive long term strategic drainage plan from KellyAmi Inc. our goal, weather permitting, is to start construction February 17th 2014. We hope to complete the drainage project on 9 holes in 2014 so that all 18 holes on the golf course will be ready for play as of April 30th, 2014, however this is entirely weather dependent. The drainage on the remaining 9 holes will be completed either late in 2014 or early 2015 (again, weather permitting).
At this point in time we are forecasting the closure of 9 holes when the project is started. We will be playing on 9 holes until the completion of the construction, with a 9 hole rate of $20. Golfers can opt to play an additional 9 for only $10. There will be two sets of tees so those choosing to play 18 holes will do so from two different tee markers, giving golfers a bit of a different experience.
The Staff, Management and Owners of Mayfair Lakes are committed to investing in the continual improvement of the golf course, and appreciate everyone's patience and understanding during the construction. We look forward to providing a much more playable year round golf course, one that allows power carts on the golf course 12 months a year!
