Bev Gannon to take over SeaWatch Restaurant at Wailea Golf Club
19th May, 2009
Beginning August 1, renowned chef Bev Gannon will take over the
SeaWatch Restaurant at the Wailea Golf Club’s Gold & Emerald Clubhouse.
The popular open-air eatery, known for its sweeping views of the
Wailea Gold Course and offshore islands, will be
Gannon’s second restaurant in Wailea
Resort. She also leases the popular Joe’s
Bar & Grill at the Wailea Tennis Club from the same owners of
the Wailea Golf Club.
“Bev has a stellar reputation as one of the
world’s most innovative and celebrated chefs, and we
have enjoyed our long-time business relationship with her, Joe and
their team,” said Anne Takabuki, president of Wailea
Golf LLC. “SeaWatch has been a successful
part of the Wailea Golf Club since it opened at our clubhouse in
the mid-1990s, and we look forward to Bev taking it to an even
higher level.”
Gannon also owns the famed Hali’imaile General Store
restaurant and Celebrations Catering Upcountry, and consults with
the Lanai City Grill restaurant and Hawaiian
Airlines. She has authored several cookbooks and was
nominated for the prestigious James Beard Award.
SeaWatch Restaurant will continue to serve breakfast, lunch,
cocktails and dinner daily. Gannon is planning to expand
the SeaWatch’s wedding and special event business. A
grand re-opening is expected to take place in December.
