David Leadbetter Golf Academy to open at Wailea Golf Club

Wailea, Hawaii – Wailea Golf Club and David Leadbetter Golf Academy have signed an agreement to open a school at Wailea, tentatively scheduled for spring 2006.

“We’re thrilled to be the site of the first David Leadbetter Golf Academy in Hawaii,” said Anne Takabuki, president and chief operating officer of Wailea Golf LLC. “This association with Mr. Leadbetter is a superb fit for a premium golf destination such as Wailea.”

Recognized as one of the leading golf instructors in the world, David Leadbetter is often associated with his contribution to the successes of Nick Faldo, and continues to work with such leading golfers as Nick Price, Ernie Els, Justin Rose, Charles Howell III, Sean O’Hair, Tevor Immelman and Hawaii’s own Michelle Wie. There are currently 30 full-time David Leadbetter Golf Academy locations in 14 countries spanning North America, Europe and Asia.
